Privacy Policy

Bowlerswap ("we", "us") is a marketplace where bowlers list and find new and used bowling balls, shoes, bags, and accessories. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We don't sell your personal information. We don't process payments or hold funds — buyers and sellers arrange payment, pickup, and shipping directly.

Account info: email, username, display name, optional city/state, and account type (buyer or seller) when you create an account.

Listings and messages: photos, videos, descriptions, prices, location (city, state, ZIP) you submit, plus messages you send to other users through our in-app messenger.

Activity: listings you save, reports you submit, and basic usage data needed to run the service (sign-in events, error logs, request metadata such as IP address and user-agent).

Authentication providers: if you sign in with Google or another supported provider, we receive your email and basic profile details from that provider.

• To create and operate your account.
• To show your listings to other bowlers and let buyers contact you.
• To review listings before they go live and to investigate reports of suspicious, misleading, or unsafe listings.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use.
• To send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, listing approval notices).

Other Bowlerswap users can see your public profile fields (username, display name, city, state) and any listings you publish (photos, description, price, city/state, the ZIP region you set, and your public profile). Your email and exact street address are never shown publicly.

We use a small set of providers to run Bowlerswap. They process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments:

• Lovable Cloud (Supabase): hosting, database, authentication, file storage for listing photos and videos.
• Cloudflare: content delivery and edge runtime.
• Email provider: transactional email delivery for account and listing notifications.
• Google: only if you use Google sign-in.

We use first-party cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We don't run third-party advertising cookies.

We keep your account information while your account is active. Listings stay until you delete them or an admin removes them. Messages stay so both parties keep a record of their conversation. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep it for legal, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution reasons.

• Edit or delete your own listings at any time from your dashboard.
• Update your profile or change your password from your account settings.
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us.
• Opt out of non-essential email by replying to that email or updating notification preferences when available.

Bowlerswap is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we'll remove it.

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transport (HTTPS), encrypted storage at rest through our hosting provider, and row-level access controls on the database. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password and don't share your login.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the effective date at the top, and significant changes will be communicated through the site or by email.
